PTU First & Only Remote Center in Punjab of IIT Bombay & Kharagpur under NMEICT Scheme
It is an honour and a privilege that Bhaddal Institutes was selected and is functioning as a Remote Center of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Bombay). The remote centre organises workshops for students and faculty. The scope of such activities is for fostering innovation, driving creativity and guaranteeing excellence. The lectures are transmitted through National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) supported by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India.
Teaching skills of faculty are improved with this session and adds to the quality of their pedagogy. The participating Faculty attend live lectures delivered by IIT faculty members and the participants can interact with Faculty for putting forth their feedback and queries during the sessions. Lectures are delivered by an expert using multi-way visual interaction. Apart from the theoretical knowledge gained via these Faculty Development Programs, practical skills are complemented by Tutorials and Labs on particular subjects and are conducted at remote centres by a local senior faculty, trained earlier by the expert from IIT.
National Mission on Education
“Train 10 thousand teachers” is a major initiative under the NMEICT (National Mission on Education Through ICT: Empowerment of Students and Teachers through Synchronous & Asynchronous Instruction”, in which IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bombay are working as partner institutes to improve the teaching skills of engineering college teachers of the country in core Engineering and Science subjects. Under the programme, two-week ISTE workshops are held during the vacation period in summer and winter. Live lectures are given by IIT faculty. The participating teachers attend at our remote center and also attend tutorial and lab sessions conducted in the same center. The lecture transmission and live interaction takes place through distance mode using the AVIEW technology and the internet. This facility is available only at selected remote centers across the country.
